Or when your hear yourself talking and saying “sure, that’s fine with me! No worries!” but on the inside there is a voice saying “wait! Don’t say that! What are you doing?!” But the voice just keeps talking. You feel like you’re being pull in totally different directions—splitting in two, just to try to keep the peace.
